Emanuela Corso Art

Summer markets

This summer has been busy! I’m usually a very shy person but I found the courage to do a few markets other than renting a little space at Makers’ Market on Dundas St. West in Toronto, where I currently have a shelf full of goodies!

It’s really hard as an artist to figure out if your art is liked: everyone has different tastes and preference and my work usually has a “feel good” vibe that doesn’t click necessarily with some customers.

During my market’s experience,  I found out that it appeals to a range of ages and backgrounds and that couldn’t make me happier. As I’m still figuring things out on what direction I want to go with my work, it is very rewarding to see folks stopping at my table and smile every single time. I once also got a compliment for my quirky character design and that is definitely a plus.

It seems trivial, but the reality is that artist’s work can be lonely and I’m usually cooped up in my studio for most of the day losing track of time. Affirmation renews my energy and helps me not to give up when I feel uncertain and discouraged! I really hope that my art bring a smile on all your beautiful faces, one illustration at a time!
